🌟 Global Design Project #521 🌟

This week’s challenge is a colour combo that’s as fresh as a spring morning — Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink, and Calypso Coral! 🍏🌸πŸͺΈ

I decided to take these colours for a spin with the brand new Swirled Designs set — available starting this week! πŸŽ‰

Now, confession time… I actually grabbed this set with my niece Tori in mind. She’s a big fan of fun shapes (and honestly, who can resist stars?). Plus, you all know I can’t resist a good background stamp — even if they do throw me for a bit of a creative loop! πŸ˜…

So, I decided to get brave and make my own “faux DSP” background. Add a dash (okay, more like a blizzard) of glitter to those stars ✨ and boom — a card that’s out of my box but totally worth it!

Sometimes stepping outside your comfort zone just makes your creativity sparkle a little brighter! πŸ˜‰

Basic Steps

  1. Make the card base

    • Start with card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 score at 4 1/4 and create a mat with Petal Pink

  2. Create Your “Faux DSP” Background

    • Stamp the background images from Swirled Designs using Petal Pink and Calypso Coral.

    • Mix and layer your stamping to build a fun, textured background look.

  3. Die-Cut the Stars

    • Use Granny Apple Green and Calypso Coral cardstock to die-cut different star shapes.

    • Layer in the opposite colours in the big star and adhere with the little ones too on your Faux DSP

  4. Add Sparkle!

    • Go wild with glitter paper or Wink of Stella — because there’s no such thing as too much sparkle, right?

  5. Stamp Your Sentiment

    • Add your sentiment “I’m so proud of you” — perfect for celebrating someone special!

  6. Assemble the Card

    • Adhere your background to the card base.

    • Pop up your sentiment

And just like that — you’ve got a bright, bold, and sparkly card that’s full of personality! πŸ’–

Sometimes the best cards come from stepping outside your creative comfort zone — and having a little fun along the way!
