February Sketch Challenge | Ready, Set… LOVE THIS SET! 🏁

This month’s February Sketch Challenge was such a fun one, and it gave me the perfect excuse to play with the brand new Ready Set Go stamp set. And can we just pause for a second… because I love it when Stampin’ Up! comes out with an outside-of-the-box set like this one 🙌

Cars, racing flags, cones… it’s different, it’s bold, and it’s SO much fun to create with. I’m always here for something that shakes things up a bit, and this set definitely does thatFor my card, I paired Ready Set Go with the Boho DSP, which honestly was a perfect match. The patterns add great movement and texture without stealing the spotlight from that awesome race car image. The sketch made layering easy, and once the pieces were down, everything just fell into place.

If you know me you know I love colouring and crafting, but sometimes all the amazing crafty goodies come with some not-so-amazing side effects for my over-sensory, sensitive body. Between inks, adhesives, and especially our alcohol Blends, the scents can be a bit too much thanks to my health. (And no, I do not recommend falling to the ground and getting concussions… 0/10 experience, would not repeat 😅)

Because of that, for Christmas I got a 120-colour pencil set, and it has been such a game changer. Now, even on off days, I can still sit down and colour without overdoing it. That was exactly the case for today’s cards. I’m still fairly new to this medium, but I’m really enjoying learning, experimenting, and growing with it. And as my Sister says… practice is progress 💕

Basic Steps:

  1. Start with secret sea card base and add your main DSP panels, 9 circles in different sizes then 3 circles in basic white for stamping) following the sketch layout.

  2. Die cut a large circle for the focal point and layer it over the background.

  3. Stamp and colour the race car, then pop it up for a little extra drama (because race cars need drama 😉).

  4. Finish with a bold sentiment and a few enamel dots for texture.

This card came together quickly, was super fun to make, and totally proves that stepping outside the usual florals and critters can be a creative win. 🏎️💨
