Monochromatic Insta Hop: Lost Lagoon

Welcome to another Monochromatic Insta Hop! This week we’re creating with Lost Lagoon, and this colour was perfect for piling on the leaves and layers.

For my card, I mixed several different dies to create a leafy, textured background and focal point. I love how using just one main colour lets all those little details shine without the card feeling too busy. The white layers help break up the Lost Lagoon, while the Shimmering Dots add a tiny bit of sparkle. ✨

Steps

1. Start with a Basic White card base.
2. cut a DSP layer for the card front.
3. Die cut several leafy and floral pieces from Lost Lagoon cardstock using the Nature’s Symphony Dies
4. Arrange the die-cut pieces across the background, trimming any pieces that extend past the edges. adhere to the cardbase 
5. Die cut a large scalloped shape from Basic White cardstock using the Scalloped Blooms Dies and adhere it near the centre.
6. stamp cut and Layer additional Lost Lagoon leaves from Elegant Leaves over the scalloped piece to create the focal point.
7. Stamp the sentiment in Lost Lagoon and attach it across the centre with dimensionals.
8. Add a small bow /circle of white twine behind the sentiment strip.
9. Finish with a few Shimmering Dots for a little sparkle.

I had fun seeing how much texture I could create while sticking with Lost Lagoon as the star of the card. 🌿 Between the detailed die cuts, scalloped layer, stamped leaves and little bits of shimmer, there’s plenty happening without needing a rainbow of colours.

Sometimes monochromatic cards prove that one colour can do a whole lot of heavy lifting! 💙
