Berry Burst Elephant Parade

A few  month's my Coast to Coast Team had a Sketch Challenge. it was so much fun to create! The angled panels in the sketch were perfect for showing off some beautiful patterned papers, and I couldn't resist adding these adorable elephants to the scene. The bright Berry Burst background adds a cheerful pop of colour while the layered foliage creates a lush jungle feel. Add a few colourful birds and suddenly this card feels like a little wildlife adventure!

Basic Steps

1. Card Base
Create your card base and add a Berry Burst mat layer to create a bold, vibrant background.

2. Sketch Panels
Cut several patterned paper panels and arrange them according to the sketch design, adding small white borders around each panel.

3. Build the Scene
Adhere the panels to the card front, creating the angled layout that gives the card lots of movement and interest.

4. Stamp & Colour
Stamp the elephants and birds, then colour them using your watercolor penciles. Die cut or fussy cut the images.

5. Add Dimension
Arrange the elephants across the bottom of the card, slightly overlapping them to create a playful parade. Add the birds above them and tuck in grassy die cuts around the scene.

6. Sentiment & Final Touches
Add a simple sentiment and any extra embellishments. Mount selected elements with dimensionals for extra depth.

This card is a great reminder that sketches are an amazing starting point when you're feeling stuck. By combining a fun layout, patterned paper, and a few cute critters, you can create a card that's full of personality. And let's be honest, a parade of elephants marching across a Berry Burst background is guaranteed to make me smile! 🐘💖
