Monochromatic Hop – Coastal Cabana Lighthouse Card

Pull up a chair, pour a cozy cup of tea, and let’s take a little paper trip to the coast πŸŒŠπŸ’™ This week’s Monochromatic  for Coastal Cabana… because honestly, if a colour could hum a beach tune, this one would.

I wanted something clean but still full of texture, so I built this card in layers like gentle waves rolling in. The star of the show is that brand NEW  die set (coming in a few weeks πŸ‘€)featuring a lighthouse and I may or may not have done a tiny happy dance when I cut it out. Lighthouses just feel like happiness.

The trick with monochromatic cards is letting texture and dimension do the talking. Same colour… but different personalities. Smooth cardstock, detailed dies, a bit of twine, and some shiny embellishments… suddenly Coastal Cabana is doing a full performance 🎭

Basic Steps:

  1. Card Base – Cut cardstock to 8 1/2 x 5 ½ and score 4 ¼ fold. Add a Coastal Cabana layer (4 × 5 ¼) matted with Basic White.
  2. Background Layer – Take the netting die and cut out 6xs on white Adhere to coastal cabana layer, Take your twine and wrap it around this layer
  3. Layered Panels – Die cut your light house out in white then cut it out to a circle, then Die cut a large decorative circle in Coastal Cabana and a slightly smaller one.
  4. Stamp & emboss – Adhere the the light house to the smaller coastal cabana circle, then Stamp and heat emboss your sentiment. Adhere to the largest circle
  5. Final Touches – Add Coastal Cabana embellishments for a little sparkle and dimension. Adjust placement like tiny drops of ocean magic

This card came together like a calm ocean day… a little layering, a little texture, and suddenly it just works. Monochromatic magic at its finest πŸ’™
