Sailing into Secret Sea – Monochromatic Magic

There’s just something about deep ocean tones that makes my crafty heart happy… like a quiet dock at dusk where even your glue sticks feel relaxed πŸ˜„ This week’s Monochromatic Insta Hop is all about Secret Sea, and I couldn’t resist pulling out Peaceful Pier for those calm, coastal vibes.

I paired it with Boho Vibes DSP to add texture and movement… because if we’re doing ocean, we’re doing layers that ripple! Add in some heat embossing and a trusty white gel pen, and suddenly we’ve got waves, birds, and a whole little seaside moment.

Basic Steps

  1. Card Base
Cut cardstock to 4 ¼ x 11. Score at 5 ½ and fold in half to create your card base.

  2. Background Layer
Cut and adhere your Boho Vibes DSP to mat layers and adhere to card base across the card front, mixing patterns for texture while keeping everything in the Secret Sea family.

  3. Stamp & Colour
Stamp the Peaceful Pier image and sentiment onto secret sea cardstock using Versamark, then heat emboss in white. Add extra details like waves and birds using a white gel pen.

  4. Final Touches
Attach your focal panel with dimensionals, add a sentiment strip, and finish with embellishments for a subtle shimmer.

This card feels like a little exhale… calm, layered, and just a bit dramatic in the best way. Secret Sea is such a stunning monochromatic colour to work with, and the white embossing really lets it shine.

Now I’m curious… are you team “calm ocean vibes” or “full stormy seas drama”? Either way, I think we can all agree—this colour is a total keeper!
