Paws-itively Cute Colour Challenge – Guest Designer Spotlight!

I’m so excited (and maybe just a little squealy πŸ˜†) to be joining Colour INKspiration #206 as a Guest Designer! This week’s combo of Pumpkin Pie, Shaded Spruce & Gray Granite had me dreaming up something playful… and of course… it HAD to include some adorable critters 🐢🐱

I pulled out the Cutest Crew set and built a cheerful little scene with a basket full of furry friends and a bold floral backdrop to sneak in that Shaded Spruce 🌿

Basic Steps

  1. Card Base
Cut cardstock to 4 ¼ x 11. Score at 5 ½ and fold in half to create your card base. Then Cut another layer slightly shorter

  2. "Basket"
Die cut 2 circles one from DSP one from Gray Gannet slice in half then on one side re cut again with a smaller circle to create the handles (see pic below)adhere them together. On the Gray one using a gel pen add some baskets weaves

  3. Flowers
Fuzzy cut some leaves and flowers from the dsp and adhere to the DSP basket

  4. Stamp & Colour
Stamp the Cutest Crew images and colour using Pumpkin Pie and Gray Gannet die cut and arrange some inside the basket and some along the bottom of the card.

  5. Final Touches
Add a sentiment strip, a small Gray Granite ground layer, ribbon bow, and a few embellishments for sparkle.

This card ended up being one of those “happy accident” designs… you know, where you start with a colour challenge and suddenly there’s a full-on pet adoption center happening on your card πŸ˜‚

I love how the bold Pumpkin Pie pops against the rich Shaded Spruce, while Gray Granite keeps everything grounded (and lets those cute critters steal the show).

And honestly… if a basket of puppies and cats showed up at my door, I’d never get any crafting done again… but I’d be very happy about it πŸΎπŸ’›

Thanks so much for stopping by—be sure to check out the rest of the inspiration from the team!
