mono hop red

Ready… Set… GO celebrate! 🏁❤️
This week’s Monochromatic Hop is all about Real Red, so I took things to the fast lane with a brand new race car set!

I love when we get something a little unexpected, and this one had my engine revving. My brother is a total car guy, so this set raced straight into my cart. πŸ˜‚

Bold red layers, graphic black and white patterns, and a speedy car make this birthday card full of motion and fun.

Now zoom along the hop and see how everyone else used Real Red! ❤️🏎️

🏁 Blog Post

Welcome to this week’s Monochromatic Hop, where we are featuring the bold and fabulous Real Red!

When I saw this brand new race car set, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I always get excited when we get something a little outside the usual florals and critters. This set is perfect for birthdays, especially for the car lovers in our lives. In my case, I was totally inspired by my brother who is a huge car fan.

✂️ Basic Steps

1. Create the card base
Start with a Real Red card base to set the tone. This strong color really drives the whole design.

2. Add layered background panels
Cut two Basic White panels and stamp bold black patterns on each for a graphic, high contrast look. Angle them slightly when layering to add movement and energy, like the card is in motion.

3. Stamp and colour the race car
Stamp the race car image and colour it using Real Red tones with dark accents for shading. Add a little grey underneath for a shadow to ground the car and make it look like it is speeding across the track.

4. Add the sentiment
Stamp a birthday greeting and pop it up with dimensionals. I added little racing flags for extra fun and to really sell the theme.

5. Finish with dimension
Use dimensionals under the car and sentiment to give the card depth and make those elements feel like they are racing right off the front.

This card was such a fun change of pace, and Real Red was the perfect colour to bring all that racing excitement to life. Thanks so much for hopping by. Now buckle up and head to the next stop to see more monochromatic magic! 🏎️❤️
