πŸ’•πŸΎ Insta Hop – 14th Colour Challenge πŸΎπŸ’•

πŸΎπŸ’• Insta Hop – 14th Colour Challenge Card πŸ’•

Today’s hop is serving up a scoop of sweet with a cherry on top. The colour combo was Strawberry Slush, Flirty Flamingo, Poppy Parade, and Bubble Bath which basically screams Valentine vibes with jazz paws.

I may have bent the rules just a whisker and added black, but neutrals are like crafting salt. They make everything tastier and help all that pink and red pop right off the card.

I had to pull out the adorable cats and dogs from the upcoming Cutest Crew set from Stampin’ Up!. I mean… tiny pets + Valentine colours? My scissors practically started fussy cutting on their own.

All those sweet little critters lined up together look like they are having a cuddle puddle party and honestly I want to join them.

✂️ Blog Post – Basic Steps

This card is all about colour, repetition, and a parade of paws.

1. Create the Background
Start with a Basic White panel. Stamp rows of paws and hearts across the background using Strawberry Slush, Flirty Flamingo, Poppy Parade, and Bubble Bath. Keep the pattern loose and playful.

2. Add Contrast Strips
Stamp thin strips with coordinating patterns or lines in the same colours. Layer them horizontally across the middle of the card. This helps ground all that busy cuteness.

3. Bring in the Black
Mat your stamped panel with black cardstock to frame everything. This is the little “rule break” that makes the colours pop like confetti at a puppy birthday.

4. Stamp the Pets
Stamp the cats and dogs from the Cutest Crew set onto Basic White using black ink. Colour them with coordinating Blends or markers in warm browns, creams, and soft pink accents.

5. Fussy Cut the Crew
Cut out all those adorable critters. Yes, it takes a bit of time. Yes, it is worth it. Look at those faces.

6. Build the Lineup
Arrange the animals in two rows across the centre of the card, slightly overlapping some for a cozy, piled together look. Pop a few up on dimensionals for extra depth.

7. Add the Sentiment
Stamp your greeting on a small white label and outline it in black to match the mats. Tuck it right in the middle of your furry crowd.

8. Finishing Touches
Add a few sparkly gems or rhinestones for a little Valentine shimmer. Because even pets deserve a bit of bling.

This card is proof that a colour challenge plus cute animals equals instant happiness. Now hop along and see what everyone else created with this berry sweet combo πŸ“πŸΆπŸ±
