Safari Friends Birthday Swap Card | Party Animal Birthday Card

πŸ¦’πŸ’πŸ†This weekend I got to attend an in-person crafting day with some fellow Stampin’ Up! demos, and let me tell you… it was exactly the kind of crafty chaos I love.

We also did a Birthday Theme Swap, and I was so excited to pull out the adorable Safari Friends stamp set to create a fun, bright birthday card. I also got to play with some new DSP, and that bold striped pattern was the PERFECT little “zebra vibe” accent!

This card is giving: jungle party meets birthday energy… and I am here for it! πŸŽ‰

Basic Steps

1. Create the Card Base
Start with a Basic Black card base.
Cut a Basic White layer for your main panel, then stamp your green leaves down the left side for a fun jungle vibe.

2. Add DSP Layers
Die cut: 1 DSP strip (for the left side) & 2 large diamond/square layers (your main focal shapes)

3. Stamp & Colour Your Safari Friends
Stamp the monkey, giraffe, and cheetah onto Basic White cardstock using Memento Black Ink.
Colour them using Stampin’ Blends (or your favourite colouring medium).
Stamp extra leaves in Granny Apple Green, then fussy cut all the pieces out.

4. Arrange Your Scene
Adhere your DSP strip to the left side of your card panel.
Next, layer your two large squares/diamonds at an angle for added interest.
Add your animals so they look like they’re peeking out from behind the leaves.
➡️ Tip: Pop the giraffe’s head up with a Dimensional to give it a little extra height and dimension!

5. Add the Sentiment
Stamp your greeting and attach it across the front so it pulls the whole design together.

Final Thoughts

This card was so fun to make, and it was extra special creating it for a birthday swap with fellow demonstrators. I always love seeing everyone’s styles and ideas, and in-person crafty days are the BEST kind of happy! πŸ’›

The making of my swaps:
Me: gluing & assembling
O’Malley: laying across my workspace like a fuzzy paperweight and demanding cuddles mid-production 😹🐾

Thanks for stopping by, and if you try this layout… please tag me so I can squeal over your version!
