Global Design Project Colour Challenge | Blue Bliss Edition

Today I’m sharing my card for the Global Design Project colour challenge, and let’s just say… this one felt extra cozy because it features three of my all-time favourite blues.
If you know me, you know blues always sneak their way onto my craft desk 😄

For this challenge, I worked with Night of NavyAzure Afternoon, and Balmy Blue. This trio gives such a beautiful mix of depth, softness, and contrast, making it perfect for florals and layered designs. I also made this card for my Monday live you can watch the re play here

Basic Steps

  1. Create your card base
Start with a standard card base in Basic White. Add a white cardstock layer for your main panel.

  2. Prepare your background layers
Cut patterned paper and cardstock panels in coordinating blue tones. Lightly angle and layer them for added interest and dimension.

  3. Stamp the florals
Stamp your floral images onto Basic White cardstock.
Colour using Night of Navy for deeper shadows, Azure Afternoon for mid-tones, and Balmy Blue for lighter highlights.

  4. Die cut your elements
Die cut the coloured florals along with additional leafy accents in coordinating cardstock colours.

  5. Build your focal cluster
Arrange and adhere the florals and leaves, overlapping pieces to create depth. Use dimensionals to lift some elements off the card.

  6. Add the sentiment
Stamp and die cut your sentiment and tuck it into the floral arrangement.

  7. Finish with embellishments
Add a few gems or embellishments for subtle sparkle and balance. I did add Wink a stella as well

  8.

Final Thoughts

This colour combo is such a winner. Night of Navy adds drama, Azure Afternoon brings brightness, and Balmy Blue softens everything beautifully. If you love blues as much as I do, this challenge is definitely one to try.

Be sure to hop over to the Global Design Project to see all the amazing inspiration from the rest of the design team. You’re going to want to craft along with this one!

Happy crafting 🐱
