Team Colour Challenge with a January Mini Sneak Peek

Today’s card was created for our team colour challenge, and of course I couldn’t resist sneaking in a little peek at some new products coming in the January Mini Catalogue. New catalogue season always makes my crafty heart do a happy dance.

For the background, I used the gorgeous Nature Walk 12" x 12" DSP. This paper is rich, earthy, and absolutely perfect for outdoor scenes. It instantly sets the mood and gave me the perfect base to build on without overwhelming the focal images.

The star of the card is the Gliding Garden Swing bundle. I am such a sucker for scene-building sets, and this one checks all the boxes. Trees, branches, a cozy swing, and those sweet little details make it so easy to create a peaceful garden moment. Even better, it’s a dream to colour. I had so much fun bringing the swing and foliage to life and adding depth with shading and layers.

I kept the layout simple so the scene could shine, adding just a few embellishments for subtle texture and interest. The sentiment tucks in perfectly without stealing the spotlight, letting the imagery do what it does best.

Honestly, the only thing this card is missing is a cute cat or dog curled up on that swing… because let’s face it, everything is better with a furry friend. 😄🐾
