Last Monday Challenge Hop | Colour Fun to Wrap Up the Year

It’s the last Monday of the month and the year, so of course we had to end things with a fun colour challenge hop. This time we were playing with Pretty Peacock, Azure Afternoon, Calypso Coral, and Poppy Parade and what a bright, cheerful mix to finish things off.

I love how these colours balance each other. Pretty Peacock and Azure Afternoon give those rich, cool tones while Calypso Coral and Poppy Parade bring in the warmth and energy. Together they create a playful look that feels happy and uplifting… perfect for a thank you card.

For my card, I kept the layout clean and layered so the colours could really shine. Patterned paper, a bold focal image, and a simple sentiment were all it needed. Sometimes a strong colour combo does the heavy lifting for you.

Basic Card Steps

  1. Stamp and colour the main image Die cut a circle from Basic White cardstock for the focal image.

  2. Cut DSP black and white pieces from Modern Christmas use your blending brushes with Pretty Peacock ink to create colour. Then using your blends of pretty peacock Colour in the squares

  3. Create a card base with White card stock and add a mat using Pretty Peacock cardstock.

  4. Cut two patterned paper strips and adhere them vertically to the card front.

  5. Adhere the focal image to the card front using dimensionals.

  6. Adhere sentiment.

  7. Finish with embellishments to tie the colours together.

Simple layers, fun colours, and a layout that lets the challenge colours shine

Be sure to hop along and check out what everyone else created. It’s always so fun seeing how the same colours can look completely different in each project.
