Monochromatic Hop – Cherry Cobbler

It’s time for another Monochromatic Hop, and this week’s featured color is Cherry Cobbler. Now, I’ll be honest… red isn’t usually my go-to color, but it’s acceptable for Christmas cards.

For this project, I used the Christmas Greenery stamp set to create a bold and festive look. I love how the deep Cherry Cobbler background pairs beautifully with the neutral browns in the flowers. To finish, I added a touch of Wink of Stella for that gorgeous holiday sparkle!

Basic Steps to Create This Card

  1. Card Base

    • Start with a Basic White card base (8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”).

  2. Background Layer

    • White card stock layer 5 1/4 x 4

    • Blend Cherry Cobbler ink onto 2 panels of the irresistible design DSP using blending brushes

    • Stamp leaf images tone-on-tone on a cherry cobbler cardstock panel.

    • Adhere to the card stock layer

  3. Floral Cluster

    • Stamp and Color the flowers with Cherry Cobbler and Soft Brown tones.

    • die-cut florals

  4. Sentiment

    • Adhere sentiment by Popping it up with dimensionals

  5. Finishing Touches

    • Add rhinestones or gems for extra sparkle.

    • Add a shimmer finish with Wink of Stella.

I had so much fun making this card even though red isn’t normally my favorite! What about you—are you a Cherry Cobbler fan?
