Mono Hop Smokey Slate
It’s time for another Monochromatic Insta Hop with my #craftycollaborations team! This time, we’re featuring the elegant and versatile
Smoky Slate. I created a card using pretty florals, layering soft blossoms and delicate leaves to frame a simple circle focal point. I love how the shades of grey give it such a classy and timeless feel!
Basic Instructions for Creating This Card
-
Start with your card base – choose a coordinating color to complement your design.
-
Cut a layer from the stunning Irresistible Designs 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) and adhere it to the card front.
-
Stamp your flowers on white cardstock.
Tip: I’m not the best at 2-step stamping, but here’s what helped me:-
First, stamp the detailed flower outline in full-strength ink.
-
Then, stamp the solid filler image with second-generation ink (stamp off once before stamping onto your project).
-
I found this made it much easier to line things up!
-
-
Die cut your stamped flowers, plus extra flowers and leaves using Smoky Slate cardstock.
-
Die cut a circle from white cardstock, then adhere it to your card using dimensionals for a bit of lift.
-
Arrange and adhere your flowers around the circle, popping up a few with dimensionals to add fun layers and depth.
-
Add your sentiment wherever it fits best in your layout.
-
Finish it off with embellishments for a little sparkle or shine.
