Oh, Happy Day! – Global Design Project #508

Hello crafty friends!

It’s time for another fun challenge from the Global Design Project and this week’s theme is #GDP508: CASE the Designer. For this challenge, we’re encouraged to Copy And Selectively Edit a project — and that’s exactly what I did with today’s playful creation!

As soon as I saw the theme, I knew I wanted to use this adorable new stamp set featuring some fuzzy friends — Alpacas (or Llamas?) — and pair it with a pastel, handmade background for a fun, happy vibe.

This card is a mix of cuteness and creative background stamping — perfect for making someone smile!

Basic Steps: For video steps check it out here

  1. Start with a card base
    – I used a standard A2 card base with a black matte layer for contrast.

  2. Create your custom background
    – Using simple stamps from a few different sets, I stamped paw prints, bursts, and star shapes in pastel pink, blue, and green.
    – Scatter the images randomly across your white cardstock to create a playful pattern.

  3. Stamp and color your alpacas/llamas
    – I stamped two of the adorable critters and colored them with soft neutral tones using Stampin’ Blends.
    – Cut them out and pop them up with dimensionals for depth.

  4. Add your sentiment
    – I used the bold “oh, happy day!” sentiment in black, placed right in the center to draw the eye.

  5. Finish with a few embellishments
    – A couple of black dots to balance the design and add interest.

๐ŸŽ‰ Final Thoughts

This CASE challenge was the perfect excuse to mix some cute character stamping with a bold and cheerful sentiment. The playful background was a breeze to make and adds such a fun, personalized feel to the card.

Whether you call them alpacas or llamas, one thing is for sure — they bring a whole lot of joy to paper!

Thanks for stopping by, and don’t forget to check out the other amazing entries over at the Global Design Project.

Happy crafting!
