August Challenge

Do you ever get DSP that you just want to hoard because it’s too beautiful to cut into? That’s exactly how I felt about the new Autumn Toile 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper. The rich fall colors, woodland animals, and detailed tree scenes are simply stunning. The best part? It will be available next month with a coordinating Bundel!

I’ll admit, I thought using it would be hard, but it was actually so much fun creating with it for this month’s challenge hop. Sometimes the prettiest papers make the best projects!

Basic Steps

  1. Card Base

    • Start with a standard card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4") I used crumb cake

  2. Layering

    • Cut a background layer of card stock (approx. 4" x 5-1/4").

    • Add 2 strips and 1 square of coordinating DSP

    • Colour in the the trees of the square

  3. Circle Focal Point

    • Die cut a stitched circle I used Vellum (you can find on Amazon).

  4. Stamped Images

    • Stamp, color, and cut out your tree and deer images.

    • Layer them on top of the stitched circle with dimensionals for depth.

    • Adhere it slightly off-center for your focal point hiding your adhesive under the stamped images.

  5. Sentiment

    • Stamp “THANKS” on a stitched banner piece and place it across the circle.

  6. Finishing Touches

    • Embellish with a few sequins for a touch of sparkle.

    • Mount everything onto the card base.

And there you have it—a warm, nature-inspired autumn card perfect for sending gratitude this season.
