Coast to Coast Challenge: Inspired by a Bag!
Hey crafty friends!
I’m back today with a fun twist on a challenge I did with my Coast to Coast team. The inspiration for this one came from an everyday object—a bag! The catch? I don’t have a current bag stamp or die set in my collection… so I got creative and made one myself! This is the kind of challenge I love—where we have to stretch our stash and see what magic we can make.
Let me walk you through how I pulled it all together:
Basic Steps to Create This Card
-
Create Your Card Base
Start with a Basic White card base. Add a Calypso Coral mat for a bright, vibrant pop that complements the Gallery Blooms DSP. -
Build Your Faux Bag
-
Cut a piece of DSP and layer it with thin black strips on the top and bottom to form the “bag” edges.
-
Add a piece of black twine as your handles—tie or glue them in place for dimension.
-
-
Add Florals Behind the Bag
Stamp and Cut florals and foliage from Gallery Blooms and layered them behind the bag to give the illusion they were peeking out. -
Assemble Your Layers
Once you’re happy with your arrangement, glue everything down. I used dimensionals to pop the bag up and give the card a little more depth.
