Pretty Peacock Birthday Wishes | Monochromatic Insta Hop

Welcome back to another Monochromatic Insta Hop!

This week’s colour is the beautiful Pretty Peacock. It has that wonderful blue-green richness that can be bold and dramatic or soft and subtle depending on how you use it.

For my card, I pulled out the Flowers Fair Stamp Set and paired it with the Forever Florals Dies. Both are currently on the Last Chance List, so this card became a little farewell party in Pretty Peacock! 🌸💙💚

I kept the design focused on the floral images, colouring them in different shades and intensities of Pretty Peacock. I love how much dimension you can get while technically sticking to just one main colour.

Steps

  1. Card Base
Start with a Basic White card base. and a mate layer using pretty peacock
  2. Floral Panel
Stamp the Flowers Fair floral images onto Basic White cardstock, filling the upper and lower portions of the panel while leaving some breathing room through the centre.
  3. Add the Pretty Peacock
Colour the flowers and leaves using different shades and intensities of Pretty Peacock to create depth while keeping the monochromatic look.
  4. Create the Centre Band
Add a Pretty Peacock strip across the centre of the floral panel to break up the pattern and give the sentiment a strong focal point.
  5. Birthday Wishes
Stamp the birthday sentiment in Pretty Peacock onto Basic White cardstock
  6. Die-Cut Detail
Use the Forever Florals Dies to create the leafy accent and die cut the sentiment shape, then tuck the leaf beside the sentiment.
  7. Final Touches
Add a few subtle embellishments and splatters for a little sparkle and texture without taking attention away from those fabulous flowers.

Both the Flowers Fair Stamp Set and Forever Florals Dies are on the Last Chance List.

I always enjoy pulling out Last Chance products for one more creative adventure. Sometimes knowing something is leaving is exactly the nudge I need to get it inky again!

Pretty Peacock really did all the heavy lifting on this card. Using different depths of the same colour gave the flowers plenty of personality while still keeping everything beautifully monochromatic.

And I think those Flowers Fair blooms deserved one more moment in the spotlight before heading off the Last Chance stage. 🌸
