Simple Stamping with Flowers Fair | Coast to Coast Instagram Hop

Welcome to this month's Coast to Coast Instagram Hop! This month's theme is Simple Stamping, proving that you don't need lots of layers or fancy techniques to create a beautiful handmade card.

For my card, I reached for the Flowers Fair stamp set and let the stamped floral background take centre stage. After stamping the images in black ink, I added soft colours in warm yellows and fresh greens to keep the design bright and cheerful. A simple sentiment and a few loops of white twine finish the card without taking away from the floral design.

Sometimes, less really is more. Simple Stamping is a wonderful reminder that a clean design and a little colour can create a card that's just as striking as one with lots of embellishments.

Basic Steps

Stamp the floral background onto a Basic White card front using black ink.
Colour the flowers and leaves with your water colour pencils
Stamp and die cut (or fussy cut) the birthday sentiment.
Wrap a few loops of white twine behind the sentiment and adhere it to the card front with Dimensionals.
Take your wink a stella and go over all the colours to blend out the pencils
Finish with a few subtle embellishments for a little sparkle.

I always enjoy Simple Stamping challenges because they encourage me to focus on the beauty of the stamp set itself. Flowers Fair does all the hard work with its gorgeous floral images, making it easy to create a colourful card without lots of extra layers or techniques.
