Shades of Hydrangea Birthday Blooms

It's time for another Monochromatic Instagram Hop, and this week we're featuring the gorgeous new In Color Hydrangea Hue. This soft blue shade was the perfect excuse to pull out the beautiful Flower Fair bundle for a floral birthday card I recently made in my Wednesday night class.

I love how monochromatic cards can be both simple and striking at the same time. By mixing patterned paper, die-cut flowers, and a few neutral accents, this card has plenty of texture and interest while still keeping the focus on Hydrangea Hue.

Basic Steps

  1. Create a Hydrangea Hue card base & mat layer.
  2. take a strip of floral patterned paper panel Die cut a large decorative shape half way threw.
  3. Adhere the strip to the left side and flip the dsp adhere to the right.
  4. Stamp and cut several flowers and leaves using Hydrangea Hue and neutral tones.
  5. Arrange and adhere the flowers around the focal area, popping up some pieces with dimensionals.
  6. Stamp the birthday sentiment and add it to the centre of the design.
  7. Finish with a few embellishments & white gell pen for extra sparkle and detail.

Final Thoughts

Flower Fair is such a fun bundle for creating layered floral cards, and Hydrangea Hue gives it a fresh, elegant look. This design came together beautifully in class and is a great reminder that a single colour can still create plenty of depth and dimension. Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to hop along and see all the amazing monochromatic inspiration featuring this beautiful new In Color!
