Colour Challenge Fun with Christmas Greenery

This week’s colour challenge had me crafting way outside my usual festive zone — Basic Black, Poppy Parade, Crumb Cake, and Blueberry Bushel. And let me tell you… these colours surprised me in the BEST way! ๐Ÿ˜

I pulled out the Christmas Greenery goodies and built a warm woodland scene full of texture, bold blooms, and a sweet little deer who is 100% judging my glue habits. (It’s fine. We’re fine. ๐Ÿ˜‚) Let’s take a stroll through the meadow together!

๐ŸŒฟ Basic Steps to Create This Card

1️⃣ Start with Your Base

  • Use Basic Black cardstock for your card base — it frames everything beautifully and makes those colours pop like popcorn on movie night. and another layer of black to create a mat

2️⃣ Build Your Background

  • Grab a nature-inspired DSP from beautiful gallery for the sky and meadow.

  • Adhere it to the card base,

3️⃣ Add Your Blooms

  • Stamp your Poppy Parade florals a few times on white card stock the same size of your DSP

  • Dip a block into ink pad and spray or drip some water on it then use a paint brush in and paint the stamped images, repeat for colours, crumb cake, poppy parade, and blueberry bushel.

  • Fussy cut and Layer it along the bottom edge to create that lush poppy field moment.

4️⃣ Bring in the Star of the Show & Add Your Sentiment

  • Stamp a simple greeting in Blueberry Bushel on a strip of the DSP used for your background

  • Stamp, colour and cut your deer image. (I colourd him in another amazing class with mitosu crafts)

  • Pop your sentiment on dimensionals Adhere your deer on top so he stands proudly in the meadow like he owns the place. ๐ŸฆŒ๐Ÿ’‍♂️

  • Tuck a bit of linen thread or twine behind him for texture.

5️⃣ Finishing Touches

  • Add a couple of butterflies embellishments.

  • Step back and admire your masterpiece… preferably with a cup of something cozy. ☕✨
