Weekly Monochromatic Challenge – Cajun Craze

It’s time again for our Monochromatic Challenge, and this week we are featuring Cajun Craze! This warm and earthy color is perfect for fall and really makes a statement on handmade cards. For this project, I used the Autumn Trees stamp set along with the coordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP) to create a cozy autumn card.

Basic Steps to Create This Card:

  1. Card Base

    • Cut your Cajun Craze cardstock to 8 ½" x 5 ½".

    • Score at 4 ¼" and fold in half.

  2. Background Layer

    • Cut a piece of white cardstock slightly smaller (5 ¼" x 4").

    • Layer on top with a piece of the Cajun Craze DSP cut just a bit smaller (5" x 3 ¾").

  3. DSP Angles

    • For a fun detail, cut your DSP diagonally into four sections and adhere to the white layer to create the angled look.

  4. Centerpiece

    • Die-cut a stitched circle in white.

    • Stamp the tree and color it in Cajun Craze tones.

    • Add the deer image in front for a woodland feel.

  5. Sentiment

    • Stamp the greeting “There are not enough words to say how thankful I am” on a strip of white cardstock.

    • Layer it across the circle with dimensionals.

  6. Finishing Touches

    • Add a few embellishments (like enamel dots) for extra detail.

    • Adhere the finished layers onto your Cajun Craze card base.

I love how the Cajun Craze monochromatic palette really highlights the autumn theme—it’s cozy, warm, and perfect for the season. ๐Ÿ‚
