Summer fun
Double the Fun: Coast to Coast Sketch + Fun in the Summer Blog Hop π
Today’s project is a two-in-one celebration! It’s the 14th, which means I’m joining my Coast to Coast team for our monthly sketch hop, and I’m also hopping along with the Fun in the Summer blog hop.
What’s better than one challenge? Two challenges rolled into one card!
For my project, I paired the bold, happy rainbow from Sunshine Vibes with the playful park imagery from Playground of Life. The end result? A cheerful scene that’s all about good vibes, summer fun, and childhood joy.
Basic Steps
Step 1 – Create Your Card Base
Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 5 ½" x 8 ½".
Score at 4 ¼" and fold in half for a standard A2 card.
Step 2 – Build the Rainbow
Die-cut or hand-cut arches in bright colors (red, pink, blue, green, yellow, and orange).
Layer them together to form a vibrant rainbow and adhere to the upper right portion of your card front.
Step 3 – Add the Grass
Cut a strip of soft green cardstock wide enough to stretch across your card.
Use scissors or fringe scissors to snip along the top for a grassy effect.
Attach along the bottom of your card.
Step 4 – Stamp & Color the Playground Scene
Stamp the slide and child image from Playground of Life in black ink on white cardstock.
Color using your favorite markers or coloring tools.
Fussy cut the image and adhere with foam dimensionals so it pops in front of the rainbow.
Step 5 – Add the Sentiment
Stamp or die-cut your “Sending Good Vibes” sentiment.
Position it inside the rainbow for a cheerful focal point.
Step 6 – Finishing Touches
Add sequins or gems for sparkle.
Step back, smile, and feel those good vibes!
This card makes the perfect pick-me-up for someone who needs a little extra sunshine in their day. And the best part? You can mix and match colors, scenes, and sentiments to fit any occasion.
