Petal Arrangements – Color Challenge

This week’s color challenge had me working with a fun mix: Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, Petal Pink, and my favorite—Azure Afternoon! These colors are so bright and cheerful, and I thought they would pair perfectly with the brand-new Petal Arrangements stamp set, available soon in the September–December Mini Catalog.

I love how the bold flowers pop against the Azure Afternoon background, and the soft vellum circle helps the sentiment stand out without covering up too much of the beautiful stamping.

Cardmaking Steps

Instructions

Card Base – Cut Azure Afternoon cardstock to 5 ½” x 8 ½” and score at 4 ¼” for a standard A2 card base.
Stamping – On Basic White cardstock, stamp the large flower images from the Petal Arrangements set. Color them with blends or inks in Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, and Petal Pink.
Background – color with Azure Afternoon over the background to make the flowers pop.
Focal Circle – Die-cut a vellum circle and adhere to the center of the card. This softens the design while letting the flowers still show through. (Vellum can be purchased on Amazon)
Sentiment – adhere your sentiment “Here For You” Adhere it across the vellum circle.
Finishing Touches – Add a few embellishments or enamel dots to complete the look.
