Monochromatic Hop – Featuring Blueberry Bushel
Monochromatic Hop – Featuring Blueberry Bushel π
Hello crafty friends!
It’s time for another Monochromatic Insta Hop with my amazing #craftycollaborations team, and this week’s spotlight is on the bold and beautiful Blueberry Bushel. This deep, rich blue adds such a stunning effect to any project, and I had so much fun playing with it for this card!
I went for a clean and elegant design featuring a patterned background, a lovely vase of florals, and a pop of white to balance it all out. Let’s take a look!
Basic Steps to Create This Card:
-
Card Base
-
Start with a standard A2 card base in white (4 ¼" x 5 ½").
-
-
Layered Background
-
Cut a piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock slightly smaller than the base for the first layer.
-
-
Top Panel
-
Cut your patterned DSP Slightly smaller then the last layer. Then blend the bottom of the DSP with your blending brush
-
-
Focal Circle
-
Die cut a large circle (or frame-style circle) to create a base for your focal elements and a smaller one for your sentiment.
-
Stamp and colour images using coordinating Blueberry Bushel blends. Then Die cut them out.
-
Assemble & Adhere
Attach a strip of ribbon to your DSP where the Blue and white meet. Then attach all layers using dimensionals on the vase and sentiment.
Mount everything onto the card base.
-
Sentiment & Embellishments
-
Stamp your sentiment (“Best Wishes”) on a smaller circle and tuck it into the focal point. (Please note: the sentiments and labels I use may be retired to support the unique needs of my local charity, to whom I donate most of my cards.)
-
Add a bow and a few rhinestones or sequins for sparkle
-
I hope this card inspires you to try a monochromatic design yourself! Be sure to hop along and see how the rest of the team used Blueberry Bushel in their gorgeous creations over on Instagram.
