A Little Push of Friendship – Park Play Card

There's something so nostalgic and heartwarming about playing in the park with friends—and even more so when it’s captured on a handmade card! πŸ’– Today's project brings together all the fun of childhood: scooters, laughter, sunshine, and a playful pup tagging along for the ride.

I used bold, bright colours to reflect the energy and movement of the scene. The sentiment “Thanks for giving me a little push” is not only playful but perfect for those who support and encourage us—whether it's in life or just getting back on that scooter again.

Basic Instructions:

  1. . Create the Card Base – Z Fold Style

    Start with a 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” piece of cardstock.
Score along the long edge at 2-1/8” and 4-1/4”.
Fold in half at 4-1/4”, then fold the 2-1/8” score line back toward the left. This creates a fun Z-Fold base that opens with movement.

    2. Build Your Scene Panel

Add patterned DSP to the inside of the card and to the front Z-fold panel, using mat sizes that complement your design.
Cut a second piece of DSP for your scene and adhere it to the front panel—just be sure to add adhesive only to the left side so it opens properly with the fold.

    3. Stamp, Colour, and Cut

    Stamp your images
Use Stampin’ Blends to colour them in bright, cheerful shades.
    Then fussy cut each image.

    4. Assemble Your Scene

Create a lively layout by placing the girl on the tricycle near the bottom of the panel.
Position the friend behind her as if giving a push, and the dog trailing closely behind.
Pop up the pieces using dimensionals to give your card added depth and motion.

    5. Add Your Sentiment

Stamp the sentiment “Thanks for giving me a little push” on white cardstock.
Adhere to the card front and tuck in a cute white twine bow above or beside it for extra charm.

    6. Finishing Touches

Add a few adhesive gems to the panel for a sprinkle of sparkle.

Whether it’s a thank-you card or just a fun creation to brighten someone's day, this card reminds us of the simple joys and the friends who help us keep going.

Thanks for crafting with me! I’d love to hear what childhood memories you’d put on a card.
