Birthday Song Has Me Singing! | Online Exclusives Product of the Month

Every now and then a stamp set comes along that makes me smile the second I stamp it, and Birthday Song is definitely one of those sets! As part of our Product of the Month featuring Online Exclusives, I couldn't wait to ink up these hilarious singing flamingos.

I love creating cards that make people laugh, and these feathered performers do all the work for me. They look like they're putting on the world's most enthusiastic birthday concert, and I can just imagine them belting out Happy Birthday at the top of their lungs!

For this card, I paired the flamingos with the beautiful Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper. The fresh greens and delicate flowers create the perfect backdrop while letting the bright pink flamingos steal the spotlight. A few iridescent gems added just enough sparkle to finish everything off.

One of my favourite things about Online Exclusives is discovering products that you won't find in the catalogue. They're full of unique designs and fun surprises, and the Birthday Song set has quickly become one of my favourites. I have a feeling you'll be seeing these musical flamingos pop up on more of my projects!

The layout of this card is fun as you get 2 cards out of it. I used last months product of the month for my 2nd card

Basic Steps

Create two Basic White card bases and two mat layers measuring 4" x 5¼".
Cut a piece Designer Series Paper to 3⅞" x 5⅛". Place it in your paper trimmer, lining up one corner to the opposite corner in the cutting groove. Start cutting from the centre of the paper. This helps prevent the Designer Series Paper from tearing and creates four triangles.
Repeat with a second piece of coordinating DSP to create a total of eight triangles.
Arrange the triangles on the two mat layers. Use the same pair of triangles for the top and bottom, and the remaining pair for the left and right sides. Adhere them in place.
Stamp your image onto Basic White cardstock, then colour it using your favourite colouring medium.
Mat the coloured image onto a Lemon Lime Twist square and adhere it to the centre of the card.
Stamp and trim the Happy Birthday sentiment, then attach it across the image using adhesive or Dimensionals if desired.
Finish the card with your favourite embellishments for a touch of sparkle.
