Global Design Project #513 – Colour Challenge

This week’s Global Design Project #513 is a colour challenge featuring Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, and Pecan Pie. These warm tones are perfect for fall and worked beautifully with the Autumn Toile Designer Series Paper and the Scenic Adventure bundle.

I love how the bold Cajun Craze makes the foxes stand out, while the Crushed Curry adds brightness with the trees, and the Pecan Pie grounds the design. Together, they create a cozy autumn scene that’s full of character.

Basic Steps to Create This Card

  1. Card Base

    • Cut a Vanilla card base (standard size: 8 ½" x 5 ½", scored at 4 ¼").

  2. Background Panels

    • Cut three strips of Autumn Toile DSP and layer them onto Pecan Pie cardstock.

    • Adhere evenly to the right side of your card base.

  3. Focal Panel

    • Stamp and die-cut the mountain scene from Scenic Adventure in Cajun Craze.

    • Layer it on top of a piece of Vanilla card stock matted with Pecan Pie cardstock.

    • Add trees cut from Crushed Curry cardstock.

  4. Embellish

    • Fussy cut the fox image from DSP and adhere near the trees.

    • Add a neutral ribbon bow to the right-hand side.

    • Scatter a few coordinating enamel dots for detail.

  5. Sentiment

    • Stamp your sentiment (“cheers to another”) and attach

This project was so much fun to put together, and I love how the warm colours really bring the woodland scene to life.
